CSA from Potager Farm & Gilson’s Herb Lyceum - 2010

CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. Members of the community purchase a “share” of the anticipated harvest, and make payment in advance at an agreed price. Your pre-season investment as a CSA member helps cover the upfront costs of the growing season (seeds, supplies, labor, etc.) before the harvest of the fresh, home grown produce in early summer.

How much does it cost?

$600 buys $700 worth of produce for a full share.

$300 buys $350 worth of produce for a half share.

What do I get with my share?

  1. In addition to a discount on the produce, as a CSA member you will receive periodic e-newsletters including recipes from Chef Paul of the Herb Lyceum and weekly updates as to what to expect at the farm/market stand.

  2. Our farm is on land owned by the New England Forestry Foundation (NEFF). We encourage you to join NEFF and will contribute $10 toward your membership. You will receive more information about NEFF when we receive your CSA application.  NEFF is committed to the overarching principle of sustainability. It currently owns and manages 130 forests throughout New England totaling more than 23,000 acres – nearly 1,100 acres of which are located in Groton. NEFF holds and monitors 134 conservation easements covering more than 1,142 million acres. NEFF has conserved more forestland in New England than any other conservation organization.

  3. In celebration of our partnership with NEFF we will be hosting a “Forest to Table Dinner” held at the Herb Lyceum, CSA/NEFF members will receive a discount on tickets to this event.
